The Werd is Origin

The Word is Origin kicked of The Word and shaped it’s future. In our first event we created two stage areas, one of which was enclosed in ‘The Words Nest’a collaborative installation created by us, as a comfortable and relaxed space for poetry readings.

This event focused both musical and poetic open mic performances, although we did schedule performances by poet Michael Lewis, as well as our house band comprised of Joe Singleton and Bryn Pressdee. Some of the artworks shown included origami paper sculptures by Hazel Martin, a video poetry recital by Leah Roberts and a huge fabric snake by Katrina Bate which event participants were encouraged to interact with.
